This unique ring is made with a standing out kite bezel. A kite that reminds us of our loved ones who are now a star in the sky, watching over us. And it's a symbol of our thoughts, feelings and especially love we send into the heavens by letting a kite or balloon fly in the sky. The beauty with this ring is that the bezel although not large, so comfortable to wear, really stands out. As it's a shape you don't see often in jewelry. The bezel is 7x10mm and can hold a bit of ashes, fur, petals, fabric or any other thing that we can crush or cut up into very small pieces. So that you have a tangible reminder of your unique connection with your animal or pet. Know that your thoughts and feelings, the things you say to your animal loved one in heaven, will reach him or her.

Please don't wear your precious animal memorial jewelry when showering or swimming, hand work like cleaning or gardening and working out. As harsh chemicals like in hair dye, chlorine and even sweat can affect the resin but also the plating if you choose a gold or rose gold plating. And silver is also best kept in a dry and dark place. Just like the custom resin stone can be scratched. So take care of your jewelry.

Animal Memorial Jewelry

The animal memorial jewelry from Animal Medium is from sterling 925 silver, but can be plated gold or rose gold. But please keep in mind that silver can tarnish even if it has a layer of gold. So keep your jewelry safe, dry and protect it from hand work, chemicals, cleaning agents and sweat. The better you take care of your jewelry, the longer the color will last.

You will always get a silver or gold cloth with your jewelry to clean your animal memorial jewelry softly. And a special jewelry bag where you can keep the memorial jewelry safe.

Please be mindful that you'll get an email wherein I ask you about the colors and additions of your choosing or if you want it to be neutral. And that it takes 4 to 10 weeks after I received the remains, for you to receive the jewelry. It depends on where you live and how fast the shipping is.

The process of hand making your animal memorial jewelry

How the jewelry is made

The stones are handmade with resin, the remains of your animal of your choosing and optional with: Pigment to create a color, shimmer to make it more shiny, metal flakes for extra interest, glitter to make it opal like.

You can choose to see the ashes and fur, then the color/shimmer will be in the background and the remains will be on top of the color in another layer.

When you don't want to see the remains, I can put them behind the color/shimmer.

If you want something in between, the remains can be mixed with the color.

Glitter and metal foils are always layed on top of the color, the remains can go behind or on top of the glitter and metal foils.

However you like it, it will always be sealed with a clear top coat. So if it accidentally scratches, you can polish the scratches out.

Please e-mail (stef@animal-medium.com) me which color you would like, if you would like some shimmer, glitter or metal foil! And include your choice of color on the zip tie bags of the remains you send to me.

The ashes and/or fur of your beloved departed animal. But also a piece of fabric for example from their favorite blanket. Or even some flower petals from the funeral bouquet. (Please be aware that I need to color correct the flower petals in advance or else the color will fade with time in the resin.)

Please send the remains secured, by registered mail or at least have a track and trace code. And don't send it with christmas/new year festivities. If anything goes wrong with sending me the goods, you have to take it up with the postal service yourself.

You can send a pinch of the ashes and/or fur from your animal in a zip tie bag within a zip tie bag. So if one zip tie bag breaks down, the remains will still be intact. (For US clients, please go to USPS, they are the only postal service that will send out remains and they have specific rules.)

The double zip tie bag method is also a very good way to send a little piece of fabric. Flower petals are better send in a little box or cup, so the petals can not break.

Please be mindful that I can't send jewelry to Switzerland and China. And that I can't send hair or ashes, not even encapsulated, to New Zealand. I also can't send flower petals to Australia, China, Russia and the UK.

I try to use everything! But if there are still some hairs, ashes, fabric or petals left, then I make them into a stone which I will send with your ordered jewelry. Because there are a lot of countries I am not allowed to send ashes to. And to keep track of every country's wishes is a lot of work.

I send the jewelry within a little soft pouch to protect it from damage and then in a special jewelry bag to protect it from moisture. Then it goes into a little box with a cleaning cloth, so it's dark and protected from light. When there was something left from the remains, you will find a resin stone with the leftover remains in this box too.

Then I will send it insured and with signature request with PostNL, this costs between 17 and 40 euro's worldwide. But it will be insured for 500 euro at most.

It depends on how fast I receive the remains, and how long the delivery agency needs to bring you the jewelry piece. From the moment I get the remains from you, it takes 4 to 6 weeks for customers in the Netherlands. 6 to 8 weeks for European customers and 6 to 10 weeks outside of Europe. This is just an estimate as the delivery is out of my hands.
